Uncovering the Magic at this Year’s Financial Technology Show

10/13/2010 at 9:57 am by

You wake up with butterflies in your stomach anxiously awaiting your parents to bundle you up in the back seat of the station wagon. With every minute, every signal, stop sign, and intersection you pass your nervousness turns to excitement.  Arriving ultimately to a once abandoned field now filled with tents, lights, costumes, and the magic that you’ve been awaiting that only the fair could ignite!

I think we all have a memory of a day like this. Our destinations may not have been the same but the excitement was always consistently there. Somewhere along the line we grow up (most of us that is), we forget that excitement and the once magical Disney World just becomes a well managed multibillion dollar corporation.

Last year, I had a chance to attend the Toronto Financial Technology Show (FTS) – a show dedicated to Canada’s accounting and payroll professionals. As I walked the vast halls at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and emerged onto the tradeshow floor I felt a familiar buzz of excitement.

The Financial Technology Show is Canada’s largest event for accountants.  Each year in Toronto over 700 senior level Accounting and Payroll/HR professionals gather to keep on top of their game. The sessions are filled with keynotes covering topics such as; how to select ERP software, Business Intelligence and its role within today’s strategic planning, and revealing the most innovative new technologies that both public and private practicing accountants crave!

The FTS is a rare find. A combination of exhibitors, seminars, and all with the alarming admission cost of $0. If that isn’t value I don’t know what is!

I invite you to be a part of the magic this October 21. Learn more about the show, exhibitors, educational seminars by visiting their website and check out the Youtube video below!
